Rajamani - An update

He is celebrating his completion of 90 years by making a dozen worktables for under-privileged children who sit on the floor to study. These will be taken to the villages by their relatives who work in Mumbai. He says, "When I see happy little faces peering from behind the desk, my sense of fulfillment is complete. My small way of encouraging the poor children to study and come up in life. Happy little faces from behind the desks are the fair reward for my toils." It takes him 12 working hours to produce each table. Cost of wooden board, reapers, araldite, screws, nails and wingnuts cost around Rs.500 for each table, all borne by him.
